We are delighted to announce Erwin Olaf's monographic exhibition 'Narratives of Emancipation, Desire and Intimacy', opening at Fernán Gómez Centro Cultural de la Villa — Madrid on May 10, on the occasion of PHotoESPAÑA 2024.
The show, curated by Paco Barragán, explores and revolves around three themes central to Erwin Olaf's work: the political, the sensual and the affective bodies, each respectively referenced in the exhibition as 'emancipation', 'desire' and 'intimacy'. Serving as an overview of the photographer's body of work, from a selection of photographs and videos spanning the 1980s through to the 2020s, the exhibition 'is framed as a tribute to the personality and artistic career of Erwin Olaf'.
